12 August: Introduction to NeuroArt by Jenny Geelan
NeuroArt is a form of art that helps calm the mind and body. It uses simple shapes, patterns, and colours to help you feel relaxed and focused. It’s like giving your brain a gentle, creative massage. In this session, you will explore 3 or 4 exercises that build connection, mindfulness, and playful engagement of the brain and body. These exercises can be used anytime to relax, calm and distress, all backed by science!
About Jenny Geelan:
Jenny is a Certified Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapist, passionate about using creativity as a tool for expression and healing. As a warm and inspiring teacher, Jenny loves holding space for both adults and children to explore their own creativity, offering playful workshops, nurturing, and full of possibility.
As an eclectic artist herself, Jenny finds joy in exploring creativity in all its beautiful forms. From oil painting and watercolours to yarn, jewellery, and more - if it sparks her imagination, Jenny is ready to dive in and create something truly unique. Most days, you’ll find her making art from the heart.
Jenny’s artwork has been exhibited at the Academy of Fine Arts, the Wellington Watercolour Society, Kuru Gallery, Queenstown Art Society, and the Otago Art Society. Her pieces have made their way into homes across the world - from Australia and New Zealand to Germany, Hawaii, the USA, England, and France.
