Arts Programme Educator – School Holiday Programmes (Casual)

Got a knack for creativity, a love for working with young people, and the energy to turn ideas into magical experiences? We’re on the lookout for a casual Arts Programme Educator to help deliver our school holiday programmes at Te Atamira  - creativity for everyone, every day.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading a fun, hands-on, creative education programme (think painting, crafting, making, storytelling, and more)

• Creating a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space for tamariki and rangatahi

• Bringing great energy, ideas, and care to every session

• Supporting the behind-the-scenes prep that makes programmes run smoothly

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Are a strong communicator who connects easily with young people and whānau

• Feel confident leading and facilitating groups

• Bring a creative, energetic, and adaptable approach

• Are organised, reliable, and good at managing your time

• Work well in a team and enjoy collaborating

• Have a genuine commitment to inclusion and culturally responsive practice

You’ll likely also have:

• Experience in leading arts education, creative facilitation, or youth programmes

• A background in one or more art forms (visual arts, performance, craft, movement, etc.)

• Experience working with children or young people

Bonus if you have:

• A First Aid Certificate

• A full NZ driver licence

• A qualification in education, arts, or a related field

The role:

• Casual / part-time, main hours during school holidays

• Based at Te Atamira in Frankton

Front of House (Casual)

Te Atamira is currently seeking someone to join our team on a casual basis as cover for the Front of House role. Our Front of House role is supported by the wider team, but is the first point of contact for people walking through the doors or contacting us by phone. They create a warm and welcoming environment and help with the smooth running of this busy community facility.

Key responsibilities:

• Welcome and assist visitors with inquiries, directions, and event details

• Provide information on current and upcoming exhibitions, events and programmes

• Manage front of house operations, including the retail space and ticket sales

• Support event setups and pack-downs in collaboration with the Bookings and Events Coordinator

• Perform various administrative tasks, including handling emails and event registers

• Maintain health and safety protocols, ensuring all bookings and visitors are inducted into the facility safely.

What we're looking for:

• Strong customer service skills with a passion for the arts

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in an arts or cultural setting

• Understanding of te reo, te ao Māori and tikanga is a plus
