Will there be other bookings/classes running at the same time as mine? Very likely, yes. Te Atamira is a shared community space with 22 individual rooms and spaces available to book. This means that at any time, multiple rooms within Te Atamira are likely in use.
Can we hire a gallery space to have drinks and nibbles after an event we book? This depends on the exhibition in our gallery spaces at the time, and is very much decided on a case-by-case basis, in discussion with the Bookings Manager. If you have queries about using our gallery space for this purpose, please get in touch.
Will a Te Atamira staff member be present while our booked event/class is taking place? It depends on the time of day of your booking. Te Atamira has a staff member here during our open hours (9am-5pm Monday-Saturday; 10am-4pm Sunday). Outside of these hours, there will not be a staff member onsite. For this reason, all first-time bookers are required to undergo health and safety inductions before they can be onsite unaccompanied.
Does Te Atamira have volunteers available to help us during our booked event? No. Te Atamira volunteers are available for our own programmed events, but for those booked by external groups and individuals, any help needed to run the event must be organised by you.
Can I run a bar at Te Atamira as part of my booking? Te Atamira is able to run a bar with a qualified duty manager for you under our licence, at a fee. However, if you are keen to run your own bar and sell alcohol yourselves, you will need to apply for your own special alcohol-licence and ensure a certified duty manager is supplied.
Does Te Atamira supply catering for our event? No, but you are welcome to bring your own catering in. We have a communal kitchen you are welcome to use, and our team would be happy to suggest some local catering companies if you require suggestions.
What times can we make a booking? All Te Atamira spaces are available to be booked from 6:30am until 10:30pm.
Are there any sorts of events you don't accept bookings for? Yes. Te Atamira is unable to accommodate any events of a political or religious nature. We also cannot accommodate parties such as birthday gatherings, or purely social occasions such as shared meals. Our primary focus is community arts practices. If you are unsure whether our space is the right fit for your event, please get in touch with our friendly team, we are always happy to chat.
What is the room capacity for Te Atamira's bookable spaces? Our spaces vary hugely in size and capacity limits, from 5 people in our smallest space up to 120 in our largest. To see the full list of room options including their capacity limits, please refer to this info sheet.
Do you have space to accommodate individual musical practice, or only group spaces? Yes. We have a number of rooms equipped with upright pianos and/or drums. For an additional hire fee, there is a large space with a grand piano available, too. You are also welcome to bring in your own musical instruments and equipment for your booking. Spaces are available for these bookings any time between 6:30am – 10:30pm, seven days a week.
Will Te Atamira promote my event once the booking is confirmed? No. Unfortunately, with the number of community events booked for our spaces at any one time, there is simply too much to promote on our own channels. If you are promoting classes or events in our space and tag us on social media, we will likely be able to share these stories, but are unable to commit to further promotion. We do have two onsite noticeboards which you are welcome to use for displaying any posters or promotional material for your event that you may have.
How can I check availability of your spaces? You are welcome to contact the Te Atamira team directly to ask about a specific time slot and room, or simply fill out the booking enquiry form with your desired booking details, and if this is unavailable, we will discuss alternative options with you.
