Accessibility

Te Atamira is committed to being open and accessible to all visitors. Should you require special assistance, please enquire at the reception desk/shop or email our friendly team in advance of your visit. We are always happy to help.

Wheelchair access

All Te Atamira spaces are accessible by wheelchair, including our toilet facilities. If you have any questions about wheelchair access into the building or require any further information, please email us on hello@teatamira.nz. If you require assistance to access our venue, please contact us in advance.

Community space

The Te Atamira building is free entry so accessible to the wider community as and when they need. Free WiFi is available throughout the building, and there are communal spaces and seating in our foyer area and outside the building, free to use by all. Front of House staff will be onsite and available to answer any queries or help you feel welcome between 9am – 5pm Monday – Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sundays.

Companion seats

We’d like to support everyone who needs support in accessing Te Atamira events. Please let us know when you book if you require a companion seat alongside yours.

Service dogs

Service dogs are welcome at throughout Te Atamira. Please let the front of house staff know via email on hello@teatamira.nz or phone on 027 1800 2868 if your service dog will be accompanying you when you book your ticket.

Free programming

Te Atamira runs regular free, drop-in sessions across a range of arts practices, to allow everyone to embrace and explore creative opportunities every day, regardless of any financial circumstances. From our Free Community Nights which run on the first three Tuesdays of each month, to our free arts programmes for seniors every Saturday, you can explore the full range of what is coming up here, and easily filter listings by “Free events”.

Safe Space Alliance

Te Atamira is committed to providing a safe space for everyone. We have a zero tolerance for discriminatory and bullying behaviours.

A safe space is a space that welcomes and supports LGBTQI+ communities. It is a space where LGBTQI+ communities can freely express themselves without fear.
