Queenstown Arts Society warmly invites our community to experience The Mountain Remembers — a vibrant showcase of original works by talented local artists and makers. Opening is 6:30-8:30pm, Thursday 20 August 2026.
Shaping. Eroding. Enduring. Mountains witness time beyond humanity.
The Mountain Remembers is a new exhibition from Queenstown Arts Society which invites its member artists to explore place, time, memory, and transformation. Geological time. Personal and collective memory. Environmental change. Whakapapa. Myth. Resilience. The quiet persistence of landscape.
Works may respond literally or metaphorically— to mountains, to landforms, to enduring presences, or to the act ofremembering itself.
Artists are encouraged to take an open approach. To fall through time.
Please join us for the opening of this exhibition at 6:30pm on Thursday 20 August. Free to attend, all are welcome.
