Nan Mulder is an internationally recognised expert in the mezzotint. This is a time consuming, but beautiful printmaking technique, whereby the artist scrapes and burnishes the image into a prepared ‘rocked’ copperplate, working from dark to light. Come and see Nan demonstrating her technique within the exhibition small holes in the silence. Sunday 4 February, 1.30pm | MANAAKI NUI | FREE
Nan Mulder will give a talk on the history of mezzotint and explain hertechnique. She will demonstrate the different phases of making the image on copper, print a mezzotint and explain ways of adding colour to the final print. Come along and learn from Nan Mulder's expert demonstration.
