MILK Bottle People, organised by Frankton Library, is a series of community art workshops culminating in an exhibition from 15 June to 31 July | MANAAKI MAI. Opening event: Wednesday 15 June, 6-8pm.

The project explores personal stories of migration as key threads in the social fabric of our families and the wider community. Inspired by Christina Darras’s 2019 Bottle People installation at Craft Victoria in Melbourne, the project is designed to encourage conversations and share ideas around identity, belonging and kinship through a series of art workshops at Frankton Library and Te Atamira in May and June. The workshops culminate in an exhibition of participants’ work from 15 to 19 June at Te Atamira.

Frankton Library invites all local residents of all ages and abilities to share stories and develop creative responses that illuminate the journeys people have made to become Queenstown Lakes District residents.

Come along and get to know your neighbours. All ages and abilities are welcome!
