Celebrate the opening of HEAD, a new presentation of work by Lisa Walker (ONZM), one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most influential contemporary jewellers, at Te Atamira. This stunning show is being presented in conjunction with The National.

Be amongst the first to witness this remarkable new body of work. Moving between adornment, sculpture, object, and form, the works in HEAD begin with the recognisable shape of the human head before shifting into something familiar, but uniquely unsettled. Stitched, padded, beaded, and intuitively assembled, each piece emerges through process, material, and experimentation.

Widely exhibited throughout Aotearoa and internationally, Walker’s practice has had a significant impact on contemporary jewellery and object-based art, pushing her practice into an area that is open, playful, and unpredictable.

Join us from 6.30pm on 25 June 2026 in Manaaki Nui, Te Atamira, for the opening of HEAD.

All welcome.

Presented in partnership with The National.

Thank you to Te Atamira’s supporters through The Arts Foundation whose generosity has helped bring this work to Te Atamira.
