Extend your painting skills in a summer workshop with landscape painter Kelly Pearce, who shares a variety of techniques for working with oil paints. This full-day workshop is suitable if you have painted a little or a lot before, and would like to explore oils for the first time, or try out some new skills and materials. Saturday 20 January, 9.30am-4pm | MAHI TAHI | $140

Kelly will lead you through a series of exercises which will inspire you to get out and capture our beautiful landscape in this richly satisfying medium.

Some materials provided, but feel free to bring what you have. A list of suggested extra materials will be sent to you after booking.

Topics covered will include:

 

•       Archival surface preparation

•       Basic oil painting rules

•       Tools and substrates

•       Use of mediums to create effects

•       Layering, transparency and glazing

•       Impasto and palette knife painting

Kelly Pearce is well known in the South for her abstract landscapes with colourful textured palettes.

She is the guest artist at the Craig's Aspiring Art Awards 12-15 January 2024, and was awarded Best Landscape at the same awards in 2023.
