This introductory two-part workshop is designed for beginners with a keen interest to learn some of the basics of hand building pottery. A collaboration between Te Atamira and Wakatipu Potters Group, the first session on Sunday 21 June will cover how to hand build pieces, and the second session on Sunday 5 July will teach participants how to colour their fired pieces using underglaze or glazing techniques. Each session runs for two hours from 2pm-4pm.

Are you keen to give pottery a go but not sure where to start? This two-part workshop led by Kate Ross will give you an introduction to the art of hand-building pottery, focusing on simple cylindrical shapes including tumblers and vases.

The two sessions for this workshop are held two weeks apart, giving the pieces you build in the first session time to completely dry and be bisque-fired, meaning they will be ready to have glaze applied by the second session, held two weeks later
