$20 taster sessions | $160 term (teens) | $210 term (children)

Come along to our Afterschool Programme lead by our Education team, where we form a fun environment for creative learning for tamariki (children) and rangatahi (teens). Mondays - Thursdays | From 3:30pm | Ages 5 – 13 and 14-18. Registrations are essential.

Keen to try out our Afterschool Programme before you book for the whole term? Try our taster sessions, running in the first week of the term (20-23 April). We provide everything you need, it's a chance to meet our education team, see what it's all about and make sure it's the right fit for your tamariki/rangatahi.

MONDAYS - Creative Rangatahi: Art Space for Teens (14–18)

A relaxed, supportive visual arts space for ages 14–18. Make your way to us after school on Mondays, stay for as long as you like up until 5.30pm. All materials are provided or you are welcome to bring your own. Art Space is a place to experiment, create, and follow your own ideas.  This is not a traditional art class — there’s no pressure, no grades, and no expectation of prior experience.  Bring a project you're already working on or start something new… bring an idea or creative goal to give life to, or simply come and spend time exploring different materials and techniques with us.

While creativity and freedom lead the way, our Arts Programme Educator and qualified teacher Kelly will provide guidance and encouragement along your journey. Whether you're building a portfolio, making for fun, craving a space that allows more creative freedom, or just looking for an arty place to belong, Art Space is for you.

A space to experiment. A space to fail safely. A space to follow your ideas. A space where creativity belongs to you.

TUESDAYS - The Art of Drawing and Painting (5–13)

Unleash your inner artist in this fun and exploratory class! Young creatives will develop confidence as they learn drawing and painting techniques, experimenting with a range of materials, styles, and processes. Students will create unique artworks while building their artistic skills, with opportunities to extend for more experienced students. This class is perfect for those who love to get creative and enjoy the magic of making pictures!

WEDNESDAYS - Clay Skills: Sgraffito (Intermediate, 5-13)

Ever wanted to carve your own stories into clay? This term, we're going beyond the basics! In this 1.5-hour weekly workshop, young potters will master the sgraffito technique. We'll start by hand-building a custom bowl and plate set. Once the clay is "leather-hard," we'll use professional carving tools to scratch away patterns, revealing positive and negative space to create stunning high-contrast art.

As this this term is developing higher skills with sgraffito, we ask that participants have attended a clay session before and have a basic understanding of clay building techniques.

Taster Session: Wednesday 22 April | $20

Full Term: Starts week 2, Wednesday 29 April - Wednesday 1 July (10 weeks) | $210

Each week offers opportunities to combine media such as drawing, painting, collage, print-making, textiles, and more in playful and creative ways.
