SUMMARY:September - October Holiday Programme 2026
DESCRIPTION:At Te Atamira\, each day is led by experienced artists and educators and is packed with opportunities to create\, play\, and explore through a range of art forms. \nExtended hours are available to help fit around busy family schedules. \nThis school holiday programme is extra special\, with many activities inspired by the incredible At the World’s Edge (AWE) Festival\, which will be taking over Te Atamira during these weeks. Children will immerse themselves in music\, movement\, storytelling\, and visual arts\, inspired by artists and performances from around the world. \nWhether they’re painting\, building\, performing\,or experimenting with new materials\, every day encourages curiosity\, creativity\, and confidence\, giving tamariki the freedom to express themselves and bring their own ideas to life in a fun\, supportive environment. \n \n\nBookings:\nWe are very excited to have just launched Enrolmy\, a new ticketing platform to make the booking process easier than ever for parents and guardians. Used by other local school holiday programmes such as that run by QLDC\, the new system means we will be able to gather any additional information needed to best support your child including medical or learning needs to be aware of\, and drop-off and pick-up processes will be quick and simple. \nPlease note the very first time you book using this system you will need to create a profile\, but this is a one-time-only requirement\, and will ensure a smooth and easy booking process for you going forward. \n  \nRegistration:\n\n‍For morning sessions\, registration opens from 9am.\nFor afternoon only sessions\, registration opens from 12pm.‍\nPre-booking is strongly advised as spaces are limited\n\n‍ \nPricing:\n\nHalf day programme: $32/day\nFull day programme: $64/day\n3pm – 5pm extension add-on: $15/day* (*Applicable for afternoon and full day extensions only)‍\n\n‍ \nBook now:\n\nFor ages 5-7\, CLICK HERE\nFor ages 8-13\, CLICK HERE

This term\, we’re going beyond the basics! In this 1.5-hour weekly workshop\, young potters will master the sgraffito technique. The projects will be different to the sgraffito projects completed last term. Once the clay is “leather-hard\,” we’ll use professional carving tools to scratch away patterns\, revealing positive and negative space to create stunning high-contrast art. As this this term is developing higher skills with sgraffito\, we ask that participants have ideally attended a clay session before and have a basic understanding of clay building techniques.\n\n\n\n\nThursdays | Creative Studio‍\nAll Levels | New Entrants – Year 2\n\nUnleash your inner artist in this fun and exploratory creative class focused on foundation skills for younger tamariki! Young creatives will build confidence as they explore drawing\, painting\, mixed media\, and a variety of hands-on artmaking techniques. Experiment with different materials\, styles\, and processes to develop artistic skills and create unique artworks. With opportunities to extend ideas and techniques\, students of all experience levels can work at their own pace and follow their creativity. Perfect for anyone who loves to experiment\, make\, and discover where their ideas can take them!\n\n\n\n‍ \nNew to the programme? Come and have a go! If you’re not sure if the Afterschool Programme is right for your tamariki\, you can try a Taster Session during the first week of Term\, with the classes happening on 13–15 October. This is a chance to meet our Education Team\, get stuck into a creative session and see what we’re all about – before committing to the full term.
