In this workshop, artist Kari Morseth will guide participants to explore resourceful and mindful making through weaving and journalling. Using simple techniques and accessible materials, participants will learn twining and two-string weaving methods to bind, connect, and create - forming both a small eco-artwork and a hand-made journal.

The session begins with mindful foraging and themaking of two small folded books, followed by an introduction to twining with tīkōuka (cabbage tree) leaves and two string-weaving techniques forbinding. Participants will use their handmade books for note-taking andsketches while exploring outside to gather additional materials – from leavesand fibres to found urban fragments.

Participants willthen plan and construct a small eco-artwork using their collected materials andweaving techniques. The workshop concludes with a collaborative componentin Te Atamira’s outdoor space.
